Mira Gohil-Patel
Associate Director & Team Leader

As an Associate Director and Team Leader at Fullers Family Law, my role is to utilise over 17 years of experience to support my clients in a range of Family Law matters.

After working for both regional and London based law firms in Head of Department and partner roles, I joined the growing team at Fullers Family Law in early 2023.

I work with a diverse range of clients and specialise in all aspects of family law work, including complex and contested divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, financial proceedings, cohabitation disputes and private children law matters.

I have acted on behalf of local and internationally based clients from a range of occupations and backgrounds, including assisting high-net worth individuals with significant assets and offshore companies / trusts.

My particular specialism is in helping clients resolve complex financial issues, dealing with pensions, bonuses, trusts, bankruptcy, significant assets, inherited and offshore assets, including businesses.
Wherever possible I aim to resolve family matters outside of court in the first instance by utilising Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods, including private Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR) hearings. This helps to reduce the delay, cost and stress commonly associated with formal court proceedings.

In some circumstances, there may be a need to issue formal proceedings in court, and in the event that they are needed, I have considerable experience in achieving successful outcomes for my clients.

Notable Cases:

  • Residence Order in the High Court, in which the children were transferred from the mother to their father in a landmark judgment considering false allegations against the father and his family. The case has been reported - V v V [2004] EWHC 1215 (Fam).
  • A complex high net-worth case which was heard for six weeks at the Royal Courts of Justice. The case involved extensive documentation and was considered to be one of the largest cases in the Family Division at that time. El Farargy v El Farargy & Ors [2008] EWCA Civ 884.

“When I made contact with Fullers Family Law I was unclear as to the options available to me. I had a free consultation and then paid for a Pay As You Go 1 hour appointment with a senior solicitor. After that appointment I felt a lot clearer and it gave me peace of mind as I now know my options and the way forward. I would recommend Fullers to anyone in need of advice on family matters.”

“I was very unsure of my options when I contacted Fullers for clarity as to my position. I had a free telephone consultation and then paid for an additional 1 hour 'Pay As You Go' appointment with a senior solicitor to obtain some specific advice. I found everyone from the legal support staff to the solicitors to be very professional and efficient yet friendly and approachable. Now I have a clear understanding of what my options are going forward. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fullers to others needing advice for a family matter.”
