Teena Dhanota-Jones
Associate Director | Team Leader

As an Associate Director and Team Leader at Fullers Family Law, my role is to utilise over 20 years of experience to support my clients in a range of Family Law matters.

After working for various London-based law firms in Head of Department and Partner roles, I joined the growing team at Fullers Family Law in 2024.

I work with a diverse range of clients and specialise in all aspects of family law work, including complex divorce matters, financial agreements, pre-marital agreements, and children disputes, as well as jurisdictional and international aspects of these areas.

I often act on behalf of high-net-worth individuals with complex asset structures and overseas assets, including franchises and family businesses. I also have extensive experience in advising international families, including English, American, European, African, Jewish and Asian.

I am a dedicated and pragmatic lawyer, combining empathy and clarity to address each client's unique situation. With a no-nonsense approach, I am always on hand to provide clients with options and advice in even the most difficult of circumstances.

I am also a trained shuttle mediator, a qualified collaborative solicitor and a Resolution accredited specialist.

I have published articles for the Transparency Project, Family Law Week, Lexis Nexis, The Sunday Times, Mail Online and Rights Info Online.

I am also recommended in the Legal 500 Legal Directory and described as:

  • “Personal and understanding… extremely professional, she helped greatly with the divorce and on an emotional level, she dealt with our divorce without adding stress and negative energy to an already challenging situation.” (2022)
  • “Very experienced with great communication skills.” (2021)
  • “Very bright.” (2020)
  • “A very pragmatic and down-to-earth lawyer. She is not only experienced and astute but also has a warm and vibrant character.” (2018)

Notable Cases

  • Acting for a civil partner. The parties sought to dissolve their relationship, having entered a civil partnership in France by way of a pacte civil de solidarité. Both parties had issued dissolution proceedings, one in England and the other in France. I successfully negotiated the best forum, then settled the matter and implemented the division of assets, which were held in both England and France.
  • Acting for an extremely wealthy husband in financial proceedings after a short, childless marriage. The wife sought a mortgage-free home but only received a fraction of the assets by way of a lump sum payment. The husband retained the majority of his pre-acquired assets.
  • Acting for the wife in complex financial proceedings, with assets in America and England. Both parties had complex remuneration packages, including restricted stock units and employee stock purchase plans, post-separation acquired assets, overseas pensions, and inheritances. I was successful in excluding the wife’s inheritance from the division of assets and dividing the matrimonial capital assets equally.
  • Advising the wife on divorce proceedings in England as opposed to the UAE.
  • Acting for a father, I successfully obtained an emergency port alert and order to retain the child’s passport to prevent his removal from the jurisdiction of England and Wales.
  • Advising the wife on the settlement of a well-known and substantial business entity in the North of England, I concluded the matter with the benefit of a private settlement hearing.
