Fixed Fee Divorce

When you are getting divorced it can feel as if you are surrounded by uncertainty; over the child and parenting arrangements, where you will live, what you will get or pay in spousal maintenance, or how best to split any finances and assets.

With a fixed fee divorce, the stress is reduced to give you the confidence to start creating a new future for yourself and your family.

No-Fault Fixed Fee Divorce

We can help you apply for a no-fault divorce as a couple, or as an individual applicant. The law changed in April 2022  and you now no longer need to say that your husband or wife has behaved unreasonably or committed adultery to start divorce proceedings. It is now possible to obtain a  divorce simply  with a statement confirming that your marriage has irretrievably broken down. You and your spouse can even apply jointly for the divorce.

We offer fixed fee divorce packages whether you are applying as a couple jointly for a divorce or you are applying for the divorce on your own.  We also offer a fixed fee package if you are responding to a divorce.

For more information on our no-fault divorce fixed fees call our family law solicitors on 01234 343134 or email us at enquiries@fullersfamilylaw.com and a member of our team will get back to you.

What is Involved in a Fixed Fee No-Fault Divorce?

Our fixed fee no-fault divorce package includes:

  • Preparing a joint or sole divorce application
  • Filing a statement to say your marriage has irretrievably broken down
  • Applying for your conditional divorce order
  • Applying for your final divorce order

The final divorce order concludes the divorce proceedings. Divorces take around six months to complete as court rules dictate when you can progress to each stage of the divorce process.

If you are responding to a divorce, we will deal with the acknowledgement of service on your behalf and assist and advise you throughout the process.

How much are our fixed fees?

If you are the sole applicant or the main applicant in a joint application, then our fee is £500 plus VAT.

You will also have to pay court fees – the court currently charges £593 for a divorce application. You can try and agree to share the court fee with your spouse.

If you are the person responding to the divorce or the second applicant on a joint application, then our fee is £300 plus VAT.

Additional Family Law Services

In addition to your divorce, you may need help from a specialist family law solicitor with:

  • Child arrangements and an application for a child arrangement order
  • Child maintenance
  • Divorce financial settlement
  • Converting a mediated agreement into a financial court order
  • Interim maintenance
  • Injunction proceedings

Our family law solicitors can help you with all these additional family law services. We will also provide you with a quote and timescale so you know where you stand with legal fees.

If your divorce is more complicated or there are disagreements over various issues, you should call our team for a bespoke quote.

Our family law team focuses on family negotiation to reach an agreement. We think that is the most cost-effective approach to resolving family law disputes and leaves you to decide on a solution rather than your having to live with a court-imposed decision. We can talk to you about the likely costs of solicitor negotiations or court representation to help you work out the best family law resolution for you and your family.
