Corporate Social Responsibility

At Fullers Family Law, our ethos is to provide the very best legal advice and service for our clients to achieve positive outcomes for a brighter future. We follow that approach with our Corporate Social Responsibility programme. As a responsible business, we are determined to make a positive contribution through our ethics and values, environmental targets, community and charitable involvement, and our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Our approach to our legal work and our Corporate Social Responsibility programme can be summarised by the words ‘we care’ – we do excellent legal work in a socially responsible manner.

Ethics and Values

At Fullers Family Law ‘we care’ is shorthand for:

  • Warm welcome

  • Empathise

  • Communicate and connect

  • Address all concerns

  • Resolve and reassure

  • Empower

That ethos guides everything we do from when a client first contacts us, to what we give back to the community and how we help protect the environment.

Environmental Responsibility

In everything we do, we are ‘planet aware’. We believe that the little things matter when trying to reduce our environmental impact whilst providing the legal services you need when you need them. Behind the scenes, our environmental responsibility initiatives include:

  • Controlling resource consumption to reduce carbon emissions through simple things such as recycling waste and IT hardware wherever possible, limiting the use of printing, monitoring our energy consumption with a switch-off policy, using eco-friendly materials and reducing our purchase of single-use products.

  • Smart working by only printing when necessary and by having a hybrid working policy that means we travel into the offices less often.

  • In 2023 we committed to plant a tree for every client we instruct. By the end of August 2023, we will have planted over 9000 trees.

We continue to monitor how we can reduce our environmental impact.

Community Involvement

At Fullers Family Law community involvement is all about giving a bit back by raising funds for different local and national charities. We try to have fun at the same time by combining fundraising with team building.

As family lawyers, we understand how families can end up in crisis, so our charitable involvement reflects our commitment to families and children. We directly support Great Ormand Street Hospital Charity and on a local level, we have supported a range of local charities and community initiatives, including the Shoe box appeal for the Milton Keynes homeless shelter at Christmas, wrapping and filling shoeboxes with essential items and the RoKart Teamworks karting event which supported The Lewis Foundation and Eve (the women’s refuge in Northampton)

Diversity and Inclusion

At Fullers Family Law we celebrate our diverse and inclusive workplace and do our utmost to make all our clients and our employees feel welcome and valued. We promote diversity and inclusion through our equality and diversity policy, recruitment, and training programmes and expect all our staff and external service providers to adhere to our values.

Client Education

Client education is all about our client’s experience. We understand that instructing a family lawyer for the first time or attending a mediation session can feel overwhelming. That’s why we focus on the help and support we can offer, as much as our legal expertise. We provide lots of information on our website as well as offer a free initial discussion to look at options and ways forward.

Conclusion:

Our Corporate Social Responsibility programme is as much about our clients as it is about our firm and the wider community. It is important to us as it sums up the way we work: providing excellent legal services in a socially responsible manner.

We encourage feedback from our clients, service providers and our employees as we know there are always ways we can improve on. We are committed to ongoing improvement to make sure we continue to make a positive contribution through our ethics, values and Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

We are also part of ‘Investors in People’ (silver) and therefore we work closely with members of the firm to continuously improve our working environment.
