Amy Chesterfield
Consultant Solicitor

As a Family Solicitor at Fullers Family Law, I have significant experience in helping clients through a range of family law related matters. From divorce and separation to child arrangements, finances, cohabitation, pre-nuptials, and TOLATA matters.

Since qualifying in 2006, I have held senior and head of department positions in law firms in and around the Milton Keynes area. I have built a reputation for resolving financial matters for clients arising from divorce and separation, and I pride myself on helping clients to understand their goals in splitting their finances and property.

When clients understand all the available options and what is achievable, it can help in deciding on a clear set of goals. My clients are always fully informed so that they can make the best possible decisions on moving forward in life.

No matter the size of an estate, I work on helping my clients to achieve their objectives, through identifying issues and assets early on and by setting a clear strategy. I also have experience in dealing with businesses and international elements, including moving abroad with children.

In some situations, clients find it difficult to divide finances after the breakdown of a relationship. My focus is on supporting my clients throughout the process, providing them with clear, structured legal advice in a calm, considered, and yet purposeful way. I always aim to resolve family matters outside of court, to help reduce delays, costs, and stress. Taking a commercial view of the situation and looking at all the associated costs versus the potential results, helps put clients in the driving seat.

In some situations, there may be the need to issue formal proceedings in court, and in the event that they are needed, I have considerable experience in achieving the best possible outcome for my clients.

Throughout my career, I have built up a wealth of experience in helping Police Officers, NHS workers, and members of the Armed Forces. I, therefore, have experience in dealing with the complexities of various types of pensions schemes in both the private and public sectors.

I can also assist in creating various legal agreements for those clients looking to protect their wealth at any stage of a relationship.

My job satisfaction comes from knowing that I have helped my clients make well-informed, meaningful decisions that will have a beneficial impact on their families and life moving forward.

“When I contacted Fullers I was in despair as to my situation, which was quite complex. I had a free telephone consultation and I was then allocated Amy Chesterfield as my solicitor. Amy was the perfect Solicitor for me as I required someone who had extensive knowledge of Police Pensions. She kept me updated at all times as to progress and next steps. The other side were quite aggressive in their approach but my Solicitor really fought my corner and shielded me insofar as she possibly could, which made me feel very protected. All the team at Fullers are very approachable, friendly and empathetic. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fullers to anyone experiencing family difficulties.”

“I was in a difficult position not knowing what path to take following the breakdown of my marriage when I contacted Fullers. I was very nervous and hesitant as it was a long marriage. I wasn’t sure how my extended family would feel about me making a decision to end my marriage, so I felt very confused and afraid of next steps. I had a free consultation and my options were outlined to me giving me the confidence to believe in my decision, to take control of a difficult situation and progress with divorcing my husband. My Solicitors assisted and guided me through the whole process and ,now that matters have concluded, I feel at peace with myself. I have my voice back and feel empowered to move on to the next chapter of my life.”
