Barking

If you are looking for family law solicitors in Barking, then our team is on hand to assist.

Welcome to Fullers

On the assumption that you are reading this because you are experiencing a break down in your relationship, let me please say how sorry I am that you find yourself in this situation. I have first-hand experience of relationship breakdown and understand the pain and misery this causes not just to you but to the whole of the family.

Our aim is to help you resolve the issues arising out of your relationship breakdown by minimising the conflict between you for two reasons: firstly, uncontrolled conflict will damage family relationships for years and sometimes indefinitely; and secondly, to keep the costs down, as it can take years to recover financially from a contested separation.

To that end in appropriate circumstances, we can act for both of you in finding a mutually agreeable resolution that is fair and reasonable and suits the whole family.  Thereby minimising conflict and the related expense.

Our Together We Part service is designed to help you both resolve matters in a cost-effective way by staying out of the court process and guiding you towards a fair and reasonable outcome.  It aims to help you both understand the applicable law and what a fair and reasonable solution looks like, which in turn may help you to overcome any bad feelings and avoid a point scoring drama.

Let me explain the family litigation process.  The outcome of any contested court hearing will be a fair and reasonable settlement from the judge’s point of view having listened to both parties’ arguments. The final hearing will take place approximately 12 months or more after you decide to issue divorce proceedings. During that time both parties will instruct lawyers to send letters constructing defences; criticisms; and counter attacks; for as long as the money lasts or the eventual hearing whichever is sooner.   If the money runs out before the final hearing, the parties will come to their own ‘fair and reasonable’ settlement.  All of which is expensive in time, money and emotional stress.

Our Together We Part service offers guidance on what the court will consider is ‘fair and reasonable’ and in most cases minimises the conflict. Thereby saving you money, time, anxiety and above all else trying to achieve a solution which is fair and reasonable to both parties, if only for the sake of your children.

I hope this may be of some help to you in deciding how you wish to manage your situation moving forward. My team will be more than happy to discuss this further in a free consultation with you on your own or with your partner.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope it reassures you that there are options out there other than outright conflict.
